well i have had my Kronos for 6 weeks now and just today had to start setting up a group of patches etc for a show coming up. ive been exploring the Audio side of things and so far i am truly happy.
well, the SET LIST is another truly impressive side of this incredible instrument.
at first i was angry at the tiny edit fields on the screen but after using it i find that problem less and less obvious.
So now i am forced to learn how to build combinations and set lists. I AM FALLING IN LOVE WITH THIS DEEPEST OF INSTRUMENTS. i really cant say it enough, this Kronos is outstanding in every possible sense of the word.
i have a Prophet 08 and forgive me for saying this but the Kronos is truly holding its own against the PROPHET.
and NO KEYBOARD IVE EVER COME ACROSS allows such Brilliant access to sounds and presets for live shows PLUS You get to add the KEY of the song and patch info and whatever else you want on the screen!!! and access to the patches or combinations or songs on the set list is so easy because each "SLOT" Icon on the screen is large and easy to finger in a hurry. and remember, selecting patches or combinations or slots in a set list does NOT cut off any sustaining notes from the previous patch and can be PROGRAMMED to fade at a certain rate in fact! Brilliant.
Every Day i am blown away by another feature that ive never seen on a live instrument.
I feel sorry for Yamaha Roland and Kurzwiel now. ive used and loved them all but
they had better get real busy or Korg is going to bury them.
if you tour and play alot of live shows there is NOTHING on the planet in a hardware keyboard that comes close to the flexibility and ease of use and just plain JOY of the Korg Kronos.
I feel SO PROUD OF MYSELF THAT I PREORDERED IN MARCH.

Don't worry, there's a company that's very busy right now. Smile

Which one? I'm not too impressed with Roland (didn't try it but it's not flexible enough for me) and the latest Yamaha do not really add much to the previous versions ... Kurzweil maybe?

Just a rumour, but I heard Casio were doing something amazing with a 386 CPU and Co-Processor Wink

But seriously, anything due for immanent release would have to be pretty stunning to beat the versatility of the Kronos.

I already fell in love with the OASYS. Nothing can replace her.

Thats good because wives/girlfriends are expensive.

I suppose, you can have several OASYS love partners and there are no problems.

MIne's already out gigging, and making a REAL difference in both sound clarity and usability.

I had Mainstage before, but Kronos has put it out to pasture.

Fantastic bit of kit imho.

The Kronos is fantastic and she is worth many noble attentions, but alas, it is the OASYS that has my heart...

I can imagine, from a (UI) user experience point of view the Oasys is better of course.
