I spent this afternoon on what I thought would be an ambitious project. I have been using Rob Papen's Blue as one of my soft synths, and rely somewhat heavily on a particular patch called "Padtacular" from the Blue's default banks. I was thinking of sampling that particular patch since I use it so much, but when I sat down to work on it, I decided to try to replicate this patch as closely as possible in Mod-7.

To get this done, I had to learn more about Blue than I've ever really known, and I had to learn a lot about Mod-7. The introduction that's in the Parameter Guide is really helpful.

The final result is not an exact copy of the original, but it's certainly close. The response in the middle of the keyboard range is pretty good, but the low end isn't as rich as the original I was trying to emulate. This might be inherent in Mod-7, but I'm pretty sure it's only my inexperience.

Feel free to download, critique, and use however you want!

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks for this, I'll give it a look when mine arrives (August, I'm told). Copying favourite sounds from other boards is a good way of finding your way round an engine. I've a couple in mind from my SQ-80 that I'd like to improve.
