|
|
I just wanted to ask owners of the Kronos, if it will create MIDI markers, AND will it recognise existing MIDI markers within midi files?
For example, I have MIDI backing tracks that have markers set at either verse, or chorus, or tag sections that I use to jump to when playing live, and should the need arise to extend the playing time.
Thanks |

Very doubtful. I import tons of midi and never find markers..... _________________

It's a rather specialised question. I suspect that lots of people have never used markers in SMFiles. Like me, even though in other respects, I have a pretty good grasp of MIDI-related topics.
But like robbinhood, I somehow doubt it.

I tested this using a Sonar file with several markers. The saved SMF does reopen in Sonar with the markers displayed. Opening the file using the Kronos sequencer, however, does NOT display the markers. I've never seen markers in any of the Korg keyboard sequencers.
And slightly off-topic, I appreciate that this post actually has something to do with the operation of the Kronos rather than the somewhat pointless threads dealing with comparisons to the Motif and Jupiter boards. I read this forum to gather insight into taking full advantage of the Kronos, not to read rants and raves about competing synths. _________________ Korg Kronos 73, Korg Kronos 61

Thanks Fclef..I really appreciate you actually trying it. Your experiment confirms it then. No marker reading using the Kronos sequencer.
A lot of the the time this sort of info is not in the manual and can only be ascertained by trial and error.
