I guess we get heavily offtopic in no time soon as we start an internet privacy debate. I for one am VERY critical towards people like Mark Zuckerberg and companies like Google and Facebook. But this is not the place to debate such things.
Greetings to Akos is probably the best thing this thread can offer.
Looking forward to your sounds, Proton. Fall is a quite a wide term. |

+1
I also realized that the forum changed during the time; beeing a fund of technical help and new information - in the last time it was sometimes very hard to read through the threads to get the point/info etc. In former times I knew if someone was a platinum member he should have posted a lot of useful information, nowadays some have the platinum membership for a lot of blabla - no problem for me, but it has changed. So some of the forumers may have turned like Akos - sad, but understandable. It is difficult to hold the balance beetween entertainment and serious information, but Ozy in my opinion crossed the line too often.
best regards

I had a few back and forth "debates" w/ Ozy after I joined this forum this year. I can't speak for the mods, obviously, but I think he stepped way over the line in criticizing Korg employees (including the helpful guys that make this forum uniquely valuable) in this thread:

Based on the "conversation" with StephenKay alone, I would've hellbanned him. To me, this clearly violates the politeness and respect ideals outlined here:

Just my opinion (which I know can be rather pointed on here sometimes). _________________ Kronos 61, Kronos2-88, Hammond B3, Baldwin SD-10 |

I'm not a big fan of those guys either. I'm constantly tweaking my FB account settings as they keep coming up with new ways to take away our privacy rights. However, in forums like this anonymity can bring out the worst - so I think we should all take a deep breath before clicking on the submit button.

Imagine having trolls on the phone or in front of your home next.
I get your point and like personal directness, but I guess they would be the last to bother, anonymous or not. |

Another way to look at that though - is if it weren't for so much criticism for having an opinion - anonymity wouldn't be necessary.
If anything, being in person makes people limit what they say and not necessarily express themselves to the truest extent.
As an example, making a negative comment about social welfare in the USA makes many people label you an instant racist. An unfair (and untrue) label.
So while anonymity does allow people to be rude and insulting etc...that may be a closer representation to how the person really is than the persona or cherade they would put on in person in front of you! |
