I'm trying to figure out how the GATE function works in wave sequencing. Looking at a simple program like I-F 063 Multi Orch Hits, I don't understand how the wave sequence gets mapped across the keyboard.

And related, how do the Nylon String wave sequences work in programs like I-D Nylon Guitar 2 Knob5 Atk?

Busch.

Hi Busch,

This part of the Parameter Guide may be helpful:
Global P4: Wave Sequence > 4–2: Per-Step Parameters > 4–2c: Step parameters > Duration

That's easy: Wave Sequences are not mapped across the keyboard. Multisamples map Samples across the keyboard; Wave Sequences play Multisamples.

(Each Osc in a Program also has a keyboard zone, of course, as do Programs in Combis and Songs.)

This part of the Operation Guide may be helpful:
Global Settings etc. > Using Wave Sequences > Modulating Wave Sequences

Hope this helps,

Dan

Thanks Dan, it's all making sense now. I was looking for the parameter settings in the program not the wave sequence. Also, egg on my face, I was playing with the multi orch hit wave sequence and jumped to the multi orch hit program and thought the program was using WS not MS.

For me, the discovery of note advance is really sweet. I've been trying to find a way to emulate the V-Synth where each time you strike a note a new sample in a series is played and it looks like note advance is going to do that for me.

Here's an example of something I did a while back with the V-Synth and I'm pretty sure I can replicate this on the Kronos.

V-Synth example
