In your case the presets 58/59 Snare/Kick
Double Algos would be the best sounds at the moment ,
because you have not yet connected the second external trigger to the WDHead,
which is a bit more difficult.
I am shure ,you will do this a little later |

This is very interesting!
I have my WD for a couple of weeks now and very happy with it. But i immediatly starting to think about how to connect it with my nord modular for some serious fun
Question: the trigger out you made is it from the internal mics so it has all the sound of touching and brushing the head?
And about of it is a taboe... It think most of the WD users are percussionists and not so much of technicians i'm inbetween
Thanks for this great idea! |

He is running the triggers in parallel with the internals so do not lose any original functionality, just adding to it!
I have no idea what I tried to write above but with storms here I am going to start my mods today and hopefully video tape it! I am not even worried about the warranty, morts next version will be such a leap I'll be able to pick a silver up fOr 50$ ;0 |

hi burp ,
yes the signal comes from the internal piezo mics (sensors)
so you have some bell-like metallic sound from the rim
and a skin like sound from the head sensor (a bit tricky to connect)
and at the same time the "bang sound" from KD 8
and also soft wooden rim sound from
my mini Djembe with connected Clip-trigger
if you want ......at the same time
please give me a link to your nord modular ,I m curious about your inputs
Inputs want to be tested slowly (but should not be a problem.)
I have recorded trigger signals with my audio interface...no problem.

Thanks for the fast replies. It 's clear to me now!
Seems exciting, but i may wait awhile and make myself at home with what the WD has on its own and process the audio output.
Although a footpedal which parallells the rim would be very nice!
It seems that it would not give any big troubles to trigger my modular (http://www.clavia.se/main.asp?tm=Products&clpm=Nord_Modular_G2) in the future. It has some standard audio jacks as input which you can program easily as some trigger input. |

I'd love to see the video if you do/did the mod... |

No problem. I think our modding founder may have some pics as well. I just don't know if he posted them anywhere, from my memory. I'm off to the store now. Rumor has it the mom and pop might have a used kick trigger! |

now , that Ive checked your north modular and its inputs
I would say that the already pre-processed sounds from
the normal line out of your WD provide a more interesting input
to your synth , than the somehow dry and less flexible trigger signals .
trigger output signals are more compatible to Trigger inputs
of a "drum brain"...
any way I gonna post an audio recording of piezo trigger signals later
edited: with a volume boost (up to line level)
there will be all hand and scratching noises .
comes nice with a delay pedal ...

No luck fOr a vid this weekend. No one had a trigger tuner clip or any variant for me. I could have gotten a kick but had to buy the whole kit! Time to order on line. |

WaterDrum, I applaud your adventures in the search for more functionality for the Wavedrum, but I'm still confused about your results.
Are you simply using the external triggers to trigger sounds from OTHER devices besides the Wavedrum or are your external triggers activating sounds from within the Wavedrum itself?
You mentioned connecting an external kick-drum trigger, but what are you triggering for a sound source? A sound from the Wavedrum or something else? If it comes from the Wavedrum, then are you triggering a sound that is already assigned to either the rim or the head?
Thanks.
ps
For some reason, when you first posted this thread I was unable to view the pics in your link, so I'm only seeing them now for the first time. Very interesting stuff! |

Q:Are you simply using the external triggers.......
A: yes and yes ,both ,
a Trigger IN jack is at the same time a trigger out jack
so a "Trigger Through"
and I have a lot of jacks built in my WD
Q:but what are you triggering for a sound source?
A:a sound from the Wavedrum
and also at the same time from a "drum-brain"(Handsonic/SPD-S)
there are jacks for the rim sound , and jacks for the head sound
more than one each (its still developing)
WD internal parallel fully working ,of course. |

not only a "rubber pedal" kick trigger like
roland KD 8 or similar is working OK ,
but of course also these triggers-systems for acoustic drum sets
only for example , also from different companies available.....
http://www.thomann.de/gb/ddrum_d1600_kick_trigger.htm
I could not test them until now , but I think ,
they will provide an even stronger bang signal
for the Algos of the Wavedrum
I am not talking about the build-quality of these products , |
