Here it goes, whenever i touch my Kronos i feel some buzz and after playing it i smell something burning. I am worried and confused if the fault is my electricals or the kronos itself. What do you think guys?

This sounds like it could be:

1) a ground fault with the AC portion of the internal power supply, and there is some AC current leakage that's making it's way to the case.

2) a mis-wired AC receptacle

This is potentially dangerous, and you should unplug your Kronos immediately.

Check to make certain your AC receptacle is wired correctly using a simple circuit tester (available at any hardware store). If it's OK, then your Kronos is defective.

Did you purchase it locally or overseas? As you probably know, In the Philippines, electrical outlets are 220 Volts, 60 Hertz. Is your Kronos? If not, that would explain the problem. In that case a voltage converter would help - if the unit has not been damaged.

I think it has been confirmed by Dan Phillips that the power supply is equal over the world for all Korg for the last x years.

Thanks for the reply. I will try what youve said. I think the electricals in our house is the one who will take the blame. I just hope that the Kronos is not damaged by it. Sad

Thank you for replying. I bought it locally and I am using a voltage regulator. Regulator seems to be no help at all, it just weaken the buzz.

OMG listen to KapnKrunch. That buzzing could be a mild electrical shock you're feeling Shocked Do you feel the buzzing when you touch plastic areas of the keyboard case? Nevermind, just don't use for now until you get your AC receptacles checked...or plug in to a different AC receptacle, preferably at a different house.

I'm surprised a lot more people do not mention the fan noise which is VERY ANNOYING on the Kronos 61.

I am exchanging my 61 for an 88 in the hope that it will be better. Apparently the fan is not a problem with the 88 key??

How does the noise compare to a laptop fan?

Most laptops fans are louder. A computer fan is louder. The click from the keys are louder.

So many things are louder.

Hmmm, well I consider most laptop fans to be quiet, so it's amazing people are complaining of fan noise with the Kronos.
