Almost hate to ask as it's probably been discussed to death here (I couldn't search it out), and I might be the only one here that doesn't know, but, what's the safest/best way to clean the screen? Anyone try applying an Ipad screen protector? Anyway to reduce the smudging?

I only use iKlear. It's the best around and the screen always looks new.
They use it at all of the Apple stores.

I use paper towel with water. Just make sure it's not too wet and it'll do the job.

Microfibre cloths work well, as you don't need to moisten them.

I breath on the screen first, to give a minimum amount of moisture, then follow up quickly with a microfibre cloth - seems to work well.

This was the advise from a well known guitar technician, the logic being to use the least invasive method first. If that works all is well.

That's exactly what I do with my keyboard screens and camera lenses.

If you want to be really careful, first blow (or use a small air blower, cost a few $ in a camera shop) to blow the bigger particles from the screen if needed, after that a microfibre cloth can do the fine dirt.

Based on Lou's recommendation a few months ago I bought iKlear. It's the best! I have also gone to using a DS stylus almost all of the time. It's faster and more accurate than a finger and the screen needs cleaning less often.

I just use a jewelers cleaning cloth to leave on the screen when I'm done and a telescoping rubber tipped stylus from an old cell phone to select objects on the screen. Work great for me. Because of classical guitar days, I still grow my nails on my right hand, so sometimes I hit of miss with my fingers. Anyone who comes over to torture themselves with the Kronos gets used to the stylus quickly.

I have the same ... and yes, those 'rockets' do their job well.

(message from NASA: make sure the fan is on high speed to compensate for the heat generated when the rocket is actually launched.)

Tried this method. Works fine. Thanks. I'm still wondering if an Ipad screen protector (cut to fit) would work; protect from scratches while responding normally to touch.

Installed a screen protector today. Used an Ipad size and cut to fit. No negative effect on the touch function. Probably not necessary, but I like the idea of protecting it from scractches.
