Hey baby, it's KARMA that's screwing you up. Go into KARMA tab and GE SETUP/KEY ZONES. At the bottom (MIDI I/O) you'll see the OUTPUT channel set to 01 and it's passing through the keyboard MIDI data to channel #1. Change it to something else or click on the TIMBRE THRU button on the right.

Is the piano sound set to Channel 1 in the timbre parameters menu?
You will need to set the Kronos to midi channel 2 in global mode then in the combi any sound you want to play on kronos should be set to channel 2 the piano should be set to channel 1.
As your masterboard only tansmits on channel 1 your kronos has to be set to a different channel otherwise the kronos will play the sound.
I use my PC3 with my kronos at home and leave the kronos on channel 1 and have the pc3 on channel 2 any sound I want to assign to the PC3 I put on channel 2.
For your setup you will have to do the opposite to me.
Whatever channel you select in Global mode that channel has the G next to it in a combi.
Example if you have channel 16 selected in Combi mode on the tibre parameters it should say 16G in the midi channel box when you turn the channel to 16 that is.
Hope this helps. _________________ Current Arsenal:

Are you changing the channel in GLOBAL MODE.
I have just set my Kronos to channel 2 and it works the way you want it to.
Press Global Mode button. Under MIDI SETUP there is box with basic. change your Kronos to channel 2 here.
Now press COMBI button and assign where you want each sound to be ie Piano on Channel 1 Strings on Channel 2G. _________________ Current Arsenal:

Did you read what I posted about KARMA? KARMA doesn't have to be on. It's passing through MIDI to channel 1. This is the default on all INIT COMBIs.
