Nice one Greg. Super chilled, just my vintage
Thank you, Lester ! I would have guessed our demographics were close
BTW, the 20 something ( or early 30's) 'kids' on my block also state my music is chill. They are young parents, raising family folks. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Chiilled out tune. Dedicated to my daughter, who is living her dream in Australia. Missing her
Lester, another superb production with audio/video creativity.
I understand the daughter experience. Our music creativity has a cathartic effect- where we can mirror back what is going on.
I like how you brought additional instrument parts in at 1:58. The ocean surf
at the end could not be more perfect. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Thanks Greg. The drums, bass and chord loop are all done on the Kronos sequencer. I record that onto a 24 track Tascam Portastudio. The other Kronos parts 1.58 are recorded onto the other tracks and the waves were taken from Youtube and recorded onto the Tascam.

Here's my latest little Symphonic Rock piece. I gotta tell you, I just love all the sounds in my Kronos! Even if I don't use them all!

Gear: Kronos 73, Triton Pro-X, Wavestation EX, Polysix, King Korg, Monotron and Monotron Duo, Minikorg, Moog Grandmother, 1 Roland U-20, Hammond M3, 4 acoustic and 6 electric guitars, 1 Ibanez 5 string bass, a bunch of microphones and other very cool toys, 1 wife and 3 cats!
runningman67, GregC and jeremykeys: Good songs all of you! From ambient, chill and jazzy to more traditional rock
Here is my latest tune: https://soundcloud.com/gunnarsletta/consciousness
Kronos is responsible for all synth sounds, except the soft lead on the opening which is played on the microbrute. Bass is running through Kronos Amp sim. Guitars and vocals are directly into the audio interface.
I also put together a video of how I play the keys one of my earlier songs. I hung the phone from the ceiling to record the video and recorded the Kronos and Microbrute simultaneously through my focusrite audio interface. Did some minor volume adjustments in Reaper afterwards and sync'ed the video and music in iMovie:

Thanks for listening/watching
Thank you for your time and positive remarks , Arne and Gunnar.
I have high regard for the skill and creativity to play/record complex songs.
Is it considered Symphonic Metal ? Back in the days of covered wagons, it was called Progressive Rock.
I know these labels are not exactly fair. The material I hear from K owners has progressed significantly from my days of listening to Dream Theater. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Yeah, labelling is hard I've generally gone with the label "Progressive Rock" on SoundCloud.
There would have to be more strings and brass in there to label it symphonic, I think, but I have done some of that on other songs. I generally stick to high-gain guitars which I suppose would place me more in the metal category, rather than rock. On the other hand, it is fairly synth oriented, so neither rock nor metal seems appropriate. _________________ Gear: Korg Kronos 2 73, Arturia Microbrute & MiniBrute 2, Moog Mother-32, Ibanez RG320DXFM Guitar, ESP Viper 254FM Bass, Blackstar HT-1

I prefer to not label because it can sound limiting. As I promote ( to non musicians) I have to keep it brief. So a label/term was necessary for a conversation. I live in California, where the pace of life is hectic for many. Available time is effected.
I stretch classic definitions to make a point. Distorted guitars, synths can be considered symphonic in the context of the music created. Its entirely
up to the artist to define his work. I think SC should allow us song writers to
create a genre. " Other " does not cut it _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Yeah, I don't disagree..
SoundCloud actually allows for this, though it wasn't obvious to me at first. If you select "Custom" as your track's genre, you can type in any label you like, rather than picking from the list. _________________ Gear: Korg Kronos 2 73, Arturia Microbrute & MiniBrute 2, Moog Mother-32, Ibanez RG320DXFM Guitar, ESP Viper 254FM Bass, Blackstar HT-1
