As far as I know, the Zappa was the only instrumental in modern times to be banned from radio play. They could have called it "the third biggest lie"! |

Al Kooper on "His Holy Modal Majesty"...whatever instrument Al plays in '68 (listed as Ondioline) on Super Session...it sure opened my eyes to something VERY different for it's time. Al Kooper is an under-appreciated genius IMHO. |

Kieth Emerson - Lucky Man - it may not be the most technical, but it probably was the 1st pure synth work to reach out to the masses (not just musicians) more than any early other synth solo and without a doubt launced the synthesizer into popular music. _________________ JP

Kraftwerk, Autobahn.
I bought this on a 33 lp at Lucky's Grocery Store many years ago. I played it over and over at extreme volumes. _________________ Kronos-6, Krome, M3, Radias, KingKorg, microKorg, KP-2, KP-3, KO-1, KO-1 PRO, Karma, microX, monotron, monotribe, PadCONTROL, Wavedrum Mini, Volca Keys, Beats, Bass, Sample, monotron Duo & Delay, microArranger, M1, Wavestation, Volca Sample, Keys, Beats & Bass, MS-20

My top 10 solos would probably all be Tony Banks. |

Solo on Down and Out by Genesis is a thing to behold.
Best wishes

All great solo's so great sugestions to all but thought I would add ELP's Hand of Truth solo at the 4:00 mark off of "In The Hot Seat". Not one of the more well known solos but it holds its own. Rather short but powerful. |

Yes! But the 'Three Sides Live' version without a doubt.
'In The Cage' on that album is my favourite song of all time - but it has to be THAT live version - and its even better if watched with the video. Sung with such passion from PC, which was sadly lacking in 2007. Guess one cant complain....
