It seems such an obvious pairing: Microsampler + Padkontrol, turn your Microsampler into an instant MPC with an X-Y pad!

But I've never seen or touched a Padkontrol. Surely it'd be a nightmare to assign everything? (I never got my Korg NanoPad to successfully control the X-Y in Ableton).
I wonder if anyone has successfully controlled a Microsampler with a Padkontrol or any other secondary control surface?

Cheers

You have to assign notes to the pads, and that's all. I've used to do more, here is my report.

You are my hero!

It's possible - excellent.
I hope you will let me ask you more questions when I get my Padkontrol.
Thanks.

Hi I've got my padkontrol's midi out going into the MS's midi in, and have tried changing the notes assigned to the pads in all different combinations, and i just can't get the pads to play the microsamplers samplers for s**t. do i have to set something up on the microsampler too?

My solution - use a laptop!
I've long since given up wrestling with the restrictions of the Microsampler.

Padkontrol has to be powered with DC-adapter for MIDI-communication via 5-pin ports.

The microSAMPLER operates on two different MIDI channels, one for SAMPLE mode, then another for KEYBOARD mode. These can be viewed and changed in the GLOBAL menus.

To use the padkontrol, you have to figure out which one of the two modes you want the pads to trigger. From there, find out which MIDI channel that mode operates on, then set the padkontrol to that same channel.

If using SAMPLE mode, the first sample begins on key C3, then continues up to B5.
