|
|
I'm looking for an iOS app that will perform the sampling functions of Korg's brilliant line of KAOSS Pads, that is to say it will let me record samples and then allow me to play them back, varying the speed and direction of play by moving my finger across the touch screen. This would enable me to create wonderful vocal looping/reversing sounds as heard in Radiohead's pop classic 'Everything In Its Right Place' (see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSpJEuNZxIk).
Any ideas? A full-on Korg KAOSS app would definitely get my money, but in the meantime hopefully someone has an alternative....????? |

Yeah, I'd also love to see a Kaoss Pad for the iPad. Regarding your question, I can't think of a directly comparable app, although SampleWiz and maybe Looptastic could be worth checking out |

Yeah I've checked out SampleWiz; brilliant app but just doesn't do quite what I'm looking for here, i.e. realtime manipulation of sample playback speed and direction; almost like 'scratching' your sample on vinyl but in a more controlled way......... Will keep looking! |

Oh, I just remembered: Moog Filtatron let's you do something similar, and might do the job for you. Totally forgot that one, must take out my fingers and do some tweaking |

Ah yes; I do actually own Moog Filtatron but it doesn't seem to be able to do what I want, unless I'm just not looking hard enough? I can see where to record my own samples, but then how would I control the 'playhead' to play back my sample at different speeds/directions? |
