Electribe Memory Card Limit?

I have another question regarding the Electribes' card limit...

For the Es-1 and ESX (note, the original, NOT the ESX-SD), what happens if you plug in a SmartMedia Card thats over the maximum size (64MB and 128MB, respectively). Would you get an error code, only be able to access some of it, etc?

EDIT: The SmartMedia cards are extremely difficult to find...Im wondering if its possible to buy and use a SmartMedia Card Adapter, which essentially allows you to insert an xd card into a smart media frame and then insert into the es-1. I read somewhere that this is possible. Again, can you use something higher than 64MB, perhaps a 2gb xd card, and will it function properly?
