hi. thanks everyone for your help. i appreciate it. i have another question though. i'm still a beginner here. i bought some microphones that need adapters. in the future (much) i'd like to record my own lyrics and i need to know what to get. a forth inch connector or something else? sry but i'd rather get the right thing the 1st time rather than guess and get something i don't need. you guys are the experts here. which is why i asked. thanks again.
to each of you i humbly bow. |

Welcome to the forums! If you're recording with a mic that uses an XLR connection (3 pins arranged in a triangle inside a circle) you'll need an adapter that accepts that and converts it to 1/4" (or "TS", "tip-sleeve"...stereo is "TRS" because it has a ring too). Don't do what I did and buy the wrong polarity adapter though...the correct one will have 3 little holes for the pins and convert to a male 1/4".
If quality isn't an issue to you, you can always find cheapass mics for about $10 that have a normal 1/4" tip. |
