|
|
I'll try this again as no one responded......
Hoping someone can assist me here.
I am currently using an external DAW for sequencing the Kronos and am having difficultly getting the arpeggiator to work (start) with a preset and then track at the same tempo as specified by the DAW.
Global:
Local control is off and the clock is set to external Midi but the arpeggiator does not play.
When auditioning the sound (prior to recording) the arpeggiator does work but upon playback (after recording it) it just becomes a single note.

Are you referring to KARMA as the arpeggiator? If that's the case you need to enable Local Control, and also you have to check the option Enable KARMA Module to MIDI Out and you must uncheck the option Enable MIDI In to KARMA Module. All of these options are found on the same page: Global mode, MIDI tab and MIDI subtab. _________________ Current gear: Access Virus TI2 Whiteout Keyboard (111/150), Access Virus TI2 Polar DarkStar Special Edition, Gibson Custom Lite 2013, Roland MV-8800 |

You don't say what you are trying to record, as in a combi to one track or multiple tracks from the internal sequencer to DAW?
I would start by checking:
Global/Midi/..
"Enable Karma to Midi Out" Recording from the I.S., multiple tracks out to DAW.
or
"Enable Midi In to Karma Module" You can record a combi to one track and fire up the Karma Module on playback of the DAW.
This is of course a very basic road map of where to look.
But if you can explain in more detail, I'm sure someone will have an answer for you.
Are you using midi cables or are you setup for USB? "External Midi is for a midi cable connection.
If you are USB, then I would suggest "Auto USB" _________________ Lou |

I'm using the Kronos in Combi Mode and using all 16 tracks when needed.
For example, there was a preset in the Kronos that had an arpeggiation built into it but when recorded in Cubase only the signle note sounded on playback.
I'm using USB only with Cubase 6 and I'm not using the internal sequencer at all. All the recording is done into Cubase 6.
Essentially I have split the Kronos into two. The keyboard as a controller and the rest as a sound module.
Thanks for any help _________________ Thanks,

Sorry, but still not enough info.
For instance, the program you mention with a built in arp is a Karma module. Is this track/channel sending all generated notes to the Cubase track?
If you don't see all of the Karma generated notes then you don't have your global settings correct. Also, you will not get generated notes if you have your Local set to off.
There are many possibilities and if you don't have the correct parameters set in Kronos and your DAW, it's not going to do what you want it to.
Global/Midi
"Enable Karma to Midi Out" and Local On Kronos. In DAW Patch Thru off, or what ever it's called in Cubase.. _________________ Lou |

think ive figured out the problem hes having and i am having the same. I have tried in cubase and also fl and am having tyhe same issue. ok here is the scenario.
i have a track that is being played at say 135 bpm in the daw. so i decide i want to record something direct from kronos which has karma etc so very dynamic. i want to record this as an audio into the daw. however i cant sync the bpm and when i try to record the audio unless i manually set the bpm the same on the kronos and have amazing luck in playing at exactly the right point in the daw song it doesnt sync.
what i want to do is play the daw song hit record on the daw and play the kronos and the second i play the keys the bpm syncs to the same as the daw and voila if that makes sence. im using midi connection straight to the sound card from kronos and i have a focusright saffire if that makes any sence or help to you guys

1- Exactly what are your Global/Midi settings.
You say you have mid from K to sound card, are they cables or usb?
2- Are you trying to record audio over midi??
3- What mode are you recording from?
If you have to set Kronos BPM to match the DAW, It's pretty clear that you have wrong settings somewhere. _________________ Lou |
