Using Microkorg as midi tone generator

Hi,is it possible to connect the microkorg to a DAW,type in midi notes on a midi channel and when its played back,the sounds within the microkorg are triggered?Kind of like how a vst instrument works.The manual mentions something along these lines but i cant seem to get it to work.Just wondering is it actually possible.Thanks

Sure, it's possible, if you know what you're doing. You probably don't have it connected properly, both the hardware and software.
