Probably because they want to focus their efforts on the Kronos. I also wouldn't expect Korg to let people make KEPs. But apparently, the Kronos lets you auto-load KSCs.

By the way, someone is asking for your M1 pack here: http://www.karma-lab.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15395

As said before the Kronos is not the focus. Think about it. They do not want to give the M3 any features or sounds that would keep people from getting Kronos. Korg could give us anything we ever wanted for the M3. Even if it is not new samples they could give more programs or combi's. For the most part they are not in the business in giving you a bunch of samples. They say here are some samples and some programs. Anything else you want? program it yourself.

There are tons of third party stuff of high quality out there for the M3. Google Karma Labs and Kidnepro to name two. Steve Kay, the Karma dude has first rate products. Kidnepro also first rate? There is also a guy on the Kronos forum who has some interesting stuff out as well. There is also free stuff out there. Google is your friend!

It's all about $$$. To keep on developing the M3, is not a good business for Korg. They need to get back the money invested on the Kronos.

But! we can upgrade the M3 doing our own sounds, and adding new samples.
Check Kidnepro, Karo Sounds, Karmalab, Organimation, and all the sounds avaliable here: http://korg.com/go.aspx?m3_thirdparty_support

I love my M3, and it can do everything what I need. What for do I need a steinway piano sound, If I still have scales and chords to learn?
Also I have My Kawai Piano, which is much more better than the Kronos Piano Sound.
Very Happy

Update the O.S. Korg M3 ...? New EX3 (Orchestral, Strings, Organ, Piano, Piano FM) KEP format for fast loading compatible with Kronos, autoload KSC ...! The M3 is a great car, but needs to be updated!
Example Nord Stage, there are lots of multisamples free ....! Korg should be an example ..!
