"New functionality that you're gonna find in ours that you're not going to find in other synthesizers, is our ultrasaw! You can take your single sawtooth waveform, and thicken it up so it sounds like six sawtooth waveforms slight out of tune with each other."
HOW INNOVATIVE!
It's not like the JP-8000 did this in 1997 or anything. _________________ Korg R3 | Korg iMS-20 | Korg iElectribe | Roland Gaia SH-01 | Moog Slim Phatty | NI Maschine Mikro | NI Razor | Logic Pro 9

it might seem misleading, but remember this is a Real Analog synth not a VA so there quite within their rights to sell it in this manner
Supersaws or Hypersaws have been done to death by Roland from the JP8k to the Gaia, and also Virus synths, there's very few if any Real analogs have that as an actual feature.
All manufacturers throw in marketing talk in order to sell it...even Korg are guilty of it
The outlook for future real analogs is starting to develop slowly so anything like this is welcome in my books, its good that its not only DSI or Moog that are keeping the oldskool alive.
At its pricepoint I doubt many would worry too much about a lack of facts or history and it opens up a new world of what the consumer likes to see for too long there have been plastic mid priced VA dominating the market by the big names and its good that a relativley small company in comparison like Arturia aren't afraid to step out of their comfort zone. |

Oh, don't get me wrong- an analogue with this many features for $549 is amazing.
I just dislike how blatantly dishonest the advertisement is, as well as how arrogant it comes across as when they speak about running your 'synths that don't sound so good' through their filter. _________________ Korg R3 | Korg iMS-20 | Korg iElectribe | Roland Gaia SH-01 | Moog Slim Phatty | NI Maschine Mikro | NI Razor | Logic Pro 9

Its simply marketing tactics...
I've never been influenced to buy something based on advertisement gimmicks.
Somehow wouldn't be the same saying."well we know the supersaws old technology but we couldn't find anything else innovative to come up with and since its already there we simply borrowed the circuit designs and because your synths might be old and crap ours will give you that hit record if you use our Filter to warm it up"
You have to look beyond the bullshit and see what it can do for you to move you music on or inspire you,if it does neither no amount of hype or faddy gadget features will change your perception.
For most people the appeal of the pricetag is enough to sell it,the rest is just pointless words! |

I know it's marketing tactics. I dislike said marketing tactics, as it's blatantly misleading a consumer into thinking a '97 technology is something new as they gave it a new name.
It shows that Arturia thinks that their target audience- synth enthusiasts- are stupid, and will potentially believe that the 'Ultrasaw' is something new and innovative. The marketing tactic is more than a bit insulting. _________________ Korg R3 | Korg iMS-20 | Korg iElectribe | Roland Gaia SH-01 | Moog Slim Phatty | NI Maschine Mikro | NI Razor | Logic Pro 9
