Today I was using the x-50 editor as a vst plugin in reaper, and while it was running every combination and program was deleted, I cannot browse through category pages any longer and the only thing that is left is initial programs.
Any Idea of what caused this and if its permanent? Is factory reset my only option?
Thanks. |

Unless there was a back-up copy of your (presumably custom/tweaked) .pcg file made by x-50 librarian then from the story as you described it a factory reset is your best, if not only, choice in restoring function. The "INIT" status of programs is generally not something you can recover from - at some point one program or another has been told that overwriting is OK.
Do you have an older back-up that might have most of your programs? How about documentation of what you've done?

Isn't there a way to backup the modified data that is on your X-50?
Using the editor, so you have all your tweaks on your desktop computer? |

| Thanks for the responses, I believe I have a backup on an old external somewhere. I really only have 3 sounds I'm going to miss, so if it doesn't work out factory reset will be my option. |

@paul678
That's my point exactly, hoping that the O.P. has made a back-up copy of his sounds at some point. But the crucial thing is that while overwrites can be accidental, saves have to be deliberate.
I'm not an x-50 user, so I'm not familiar with the editor; it may prompt a save (like word processor programs do) on closing but that's not a usual feature of programs like this.
Does the editor have an equivalent of "recent docs" that might save off the usual workspace?
