Very Happy
G'day ...Umm perhaps there's a thread hidden amongst posts that addresses the fundamentals of ciphering English as filtered through the Japanese mindset. (I guess not).
Anyway I had dreaded the prospect of reading the manual to get started laying down tracks - -was not the least bit surprised to find that I can't get there from here. I just spent 35 minutes reading over - and abiding by the instructions as best I could and found out that they were teaching me to step record. Information (for me) to be used as a last resort for correctional issues. Why after ALL these years don't the manufacturers know enough to let Americans or Brits write the manual. grrrr ...nuff said.
Please could someone pass me some information that I NEED to know about setting this thing up to record? This thing's unguessable for me.

I haven't read the manual, I never read digital documents, only paper ones. But I figured out some of it...

Record in Sequence mode. Whatever instrument is selected as a Track will record when you press rec/write then start/stop. Or under preferences you can choose multi record mode. Under each instrument is a play button, it will change to a rec button when you click it, so press one or more to record those instruments. Also any arp will record if it is set to rec. And a drum track will record if you set the drum to rec.

I would suggest touching up on your reading skills and learning to use the index that is included in your manual. The index is in the very back of your manual and shows you where to find what it is you wish to learn. It looks like this.

Recording 55
Auto Song Setup 60
Control surface 61
Multiple MIDI track 60
Realtime 57,58
RPPR 64
Step 58

The little numbers tell you the page to look at the list consist of topics, and sub topics.
There are also courses available for free online to help you learn how to follow instructions. If you need more help feel free to ask.

I can get around pretty well with the use of words. Since as a writer I have a love for them. I don`t know if my comprehension skills can be improved since I have a mild form of dyslexia. Anyhow, I`ve been buying electronic things to make music since the late eighties. Strange as it may seem- I had less of a learning curve on my DX7 ll.

I had already gone through every suggestion on your list that`s when I decided to see you guys. Bottom line - - the midi channel select is functioning with sounds chosen but the sequencer doesn`t seem to be recording my performance.
I have the SD card formatted - The memory protect is off.
If you`ve got some URL`s with clear video instruction I`d be much obliged.
