|
|
Hi guys!
We want to install the Austrian Piano Expansion but:
1.) the downloaded files on a Stick (or Hard Disk), or DVD becomes the following massage: "EXSinstall exsins file error"
2.) a new downloaded file-- the same error...
what can we do?
brandnew Kronos 73, System 1.6.0
regards

At what point does this error appear?

This error message means that the .exsins file couldn't be opened, which might occur if the USB drive is in a corrupted state. Try this:
1. Format the USB drive, either on the KRONOS or on your computer. If on your computer, make sure to format it as FAT32.
2. Using the newly formatted USB drive, follow the instructions for copying and installing the EXs.

Hi Dan,
I've downloaded three times (took forever each time), formatted 2 different usb sticks on the KRONOS (full format FAT 32). I still get the error. I'm going to try another, different manufacturer's stick again. By the way, I'm on a Mac Book Pro, which tends to leave other files on the newly formatted drives; but, I've never run into this issue before on the M3 nor OASYS. _________________ Cheers,

| Same here. Have tried with 2 USB Sticks, one Hardisk and a DVD. Always the same message (have the Sticks and hardisk formatted on Kronos, and also tried the FAT 32 from a Windows 7 PC...) |

EJ2,
Have you tried different libraries ? Do you get the same error when installing another library ? _________________ Old gig setup: Yamaha S90, Roland Fantom XR, Hammond XM-1, M-Audio Axiom 61

There should be a different error message if there isn't enough room on the disk, but just to make sure: how much free space is available on the internal drive? _________________ Dan Phillips

Here are a couple of possibilities:
1. If you've used a Mac to copy the files onto a USB device, it's possible that a file named "._EXs12.exsins" might have been created, in addition to EXs12.exsins. The first file won't normally be visible on the Mac, but both will show up on the KRONOS. Make sure that you're selecting the file "EXs12.exsins" without the leading "._".
2. The names of all of the installer files are listed in the EXs12 manual. When you look at the USB stick, are all of those files there with the exact same names, including suffixes?
