Is there a quick & dirty way to add Reverb to a piano patch? For example, on the Nord there's a dedicated knob for this... you just twiddle the knob while playing! With the Kronos, it seems like I have to go through some menus and go through the effects processor. Anyone know a quicker way to do this? _________________ Check me out at PianoManChuck |

I'm afraid not... You need to create an IFX, MFX or TFX in the program/combi you are using.
My older keyboards usually had a master effects part where you could control reverb and chorus globally...
It's something to get used to, I guess _________________ Old gig setup: Yamaha S90, Roland Fantom XR, Hammond XM-1, M-Audio Axiom 61

A lot of presets have knobs 7 and 8 dedicated to Fx (assuming some are allocated in the traditional way).
If your sound doesn't already have them assigned to reverb then as mentioned above you can assign them yourself. _________________ Plugged in: Fantom 8, Jupiter-X, Jupiter 80, System-8, JD-XA, V-Synth GTv2, FA-06, SE-02, JU-06A, TR-09, VT-4, Go:Livecast, Rubix44, Shure SM7b, Push2, Ableton 11 Suite, Sibelius, KRK Rokit 5, |

Sounds promising... could you post a step by step on that if you happen to have some spare time?? _________________ Check me out at PianoManChuck |

The process is broadly the same for all progs/combis and effects:
1. Select your prog (Piano in this case)
2. In the main screen, hit the 'MFX/TFX' tab
3. On the routing tab of that screen set the MFX 1 to a reverb you like
4. Hit the MFX1 tab on that screen and put the wet/dry value higher than you would normally use
5. Hit the 'Main' tab
6. Now select the 'Control Surface' tab
7. At top left there is the 'OSC 1/2' tab - hit that and make sure knob 8 is set to 127 (max)
8. Hit the 'Main' tab again
9. Now select the 'Basic/Vector' tab
10. On the next screen, hit the 'Controllers' tab
11. All the knobs are assignable to many things - hit a drop down arrow on either to see the possibilities
12. You will see that MFX 1 can be assigned; select that for knob 8 - don't worry about the others
13. Play some notes and twiddle knob 8 - if you like SAVE!!!! If you don't then either change the reverb used and / or its parameters. Or even assign 1 type of reverb on MFX 1 to Knob 7 and another type of reverb on MFX 2 to Knob 8 and twiddle both knobs
14. Now SAVE!!!
Eventually you will get it so that you can play the piano sound with no or max reverb (and every shade inbetween) by turning knob 8 on the Control Surface.
Did I say SAVE it once you're done? I did? Good... _________________ Plugged in: Fantom 8, Jupiter-X, Jupiter 80, System-8, JD-XA, V-Synth GTv2, FA-06, SE-02, JU-06A, TR-09, VT-4, Go:Livecast, Rubix44, Shure SM7b, Push2, Ableton 11 Suite, Sibelius, KRK Rokit 5, |

This is very true. Korg has always been good about providing great out-of-the-box sounds, features and functionality. I've found that, with most Korg workstations, any available controls (velocity, aftertouch, sliders, knobs, wheels, etc.) are usually mapped to something useful for live performance- FX, filter, amplitude, etc. You may luck out and find one of the myriad piano programs or combis has exactly the controls and tone you're looking for without diving through menus.
Good luck! _________________ - cynkh -
