So I was perusing one of my favourite artists's websites (c418.org) and noticed he used these $1000 monitors. I've seen and heard many amazing monitors and look forward to my first set of KRKs. Are A8x's worth the expense? I mean, my triple amp, 7-speaker monitoring setup sounds badass and was a total of $200.
I guess really my main question is are expensive monitors really that much better than cheaper setups? Is it just headroom/clarity, or is it more than that? I really want a setup that is totally passive to the sound, which my current setup comes very close to.
And yes, I know how speakers work and how different setups and specs and everything can change the sound.
PS sorry if this is a noob question/wrong subforum. _________________ Cheers! Yoa
