FWIW, I have the same problem, asked here before, but not anyone seems to be reading this forum anymore. I've tried another forum's and asked KORG themselves but no answer. It seems to "anal" or of no interest. I find this funny. USB is the way to power everything, and when they recommend it, it is as noisy as hell. Then you can't use it to record anything to the computers DAW.

I tried to even remove the USB so it got powered up from another computer! Like just running it on USB and connected the rest with analog output cables into another soundcard. Didn't help.

It seems that Pandora PX5D has run its marketable lifespan, and they had some built in life length design. But I agree, the USB is extremely annoying. Tried also to power itwith an external third party USB adapter, but it didn't work at all.
