Not sure that this is your issue, but you can give it a try...

The editor has an autodump mode (button in the library window).
When it is on and you choose another program, it downloads immediately that new program.
When you disable it, the download only occurs at the moment you double click the program to edit it.


Anyway apart from the autodump mode, when you are working on a program in the editor (let's say A11, and you choose another one, e.g. A21 which does reinitialization, the settings of A11 are still in the editor. You can still go back and choose A11, double click it and it will be loaded to the board with the settings you edited so far.

Thanks for the reply.

My inquiry tho is how to keep the selected sounds as multi timbrale instead of them reinitializing themselves to single timbre (original patch) every time i change sound settings.

I still don't understand the point exactly.

If you have set up a program to multitimbral, you either :
* save the program in the soundeditor and reload it from the sound editor to the XL each time you want to perform with it
* really store the program on the XL itself. Press the write button, be careful because you overwrite the program currently indicated by bank select switch and the program genre and category knobs.
