Hi SynthKeyWizard.
Your two demo's “London Choir” and “Boys Choir” sound pretty darn close to the London Choir and Boys Choir from Symphony of Voices.
Can you please easy my worry here and tell me what the source is?
I have received two complains over your content today. One with regards to this upload and a second complain regarding everything your uploading.
Can you please give assurance that the content is 100% legal and your property to share.
Regards

I'm very sorry to tell you this, but the logic is not sound, therefore the files are illegal and that you should remove them immediately. It is illegal to load a sample library into your keyboard and to sample the hardware playing back those samples.
I will communicate back with the individuals that complained.
I sincerely hope that the speed in which this has been resolved and the innocent mistake you seem to have made will be enough to resolve the issue.
In order to avoid these issues in the future and not to put people off sharing, I will work on some guide lines that explain what it safe and what is not safe when it comes to sampling. Lets turn this into a positive thing.
There are some simply rules to this complex subject that will keep you safe and everyone happy.
Regards

I don't like the "sound" of that. What are the repercussion of all this for a dude like me who downloaded some of those libraries? I mean, not like i'm afraid that the sampling police will knock at my door, but i want to be fair to the original creator(s) of those libraries.
I don't think SynthKeyWizard did this on purpose if it's the case, but who should i pay if i decide to keep the libraries? If the library i installed in the Kronos represents 3% of the original, i wouldn't want to pay the full price of it either.

Hi Blink.
I'm not sure anyone can really answer you other than to say that technically you should delete the files.
The original product is called Symphony of Voices.

I purchased this library myself many years ago and I've highly recommended it many times over the years here on KORG Forums. In fact I only last mentioned it a few weeks ago.

For what it's worth.... It's timeless, and it's the best 500 bucks I ever spent on sounds. I'm not sure why the official website says it's 4 disks though when my copy came with 5. The 5th disk is called Additional Voices.

To add my 2 cents in here:
This doesnt make Dmitry a bad guy, he is still one of the most valued members here...
And to James:
Its probably one of my 500 best invested $$$ having that library.
Mine came with 5 Disks too. _________________ http://www.basaristudios.com

What if we already own the sample library (this one or others)? And if someone is willing to share their converted files here on this forum? That is, can those who already own a particular CD-ROM, or are willing to purchase it-- can those owners of the original get to share someone's converted files, just among registered owners????????
This would save duplication of effort. And it can be kept legal.
I don't know a fool proof way to confirm ownership unless I guess it's confirmed by the license providers.
I have lots of Akai CD-ROMS I purchased, both new and used (i understand the difference regarding licensing). I bet others on this forum own them, too. Maybe have already converted them to Korg, or will.
I have no idea how to convert these libraries to the Kronos. I am sure it would take me a long, long time and still I would screw it up. I have never done any sample conversion and have heard about so many problems with the results, I just don't want to go there.
When I load my Bob Clearmountain drum samples into my Akai S3200 or CD3000i, they sound amazing. When I load the same disk in to my Akai MPC4000, it sounds lightweight in comparison. And those are fairly similar Akai machines. We are talking about when going from Akai to Korg a much, much bigger difference. So are the results even worth it, I wonder?
Maybe we can work out a way to share the Akai-Kronos-converted files if we can prove ownership.
Any thoughts? _________________ Favorites: Kronos, Minimoog, Jupiter 8, JD990 & 800, Ensoniq MR Rack & SD-1, Akai MPC 4000, S3200, CD3000, Kawai K5000S, Korg Trinity Pro V3 (just got it!). |
