|
|
Hi all
I decided to have a play at using ESC to convert a few of my Kontakt libraries to my Kronos.
I select "Source Format", "Kontakt"
Then I browse to any (well tried a fair few) libraries, they appear under the instrument column, I click on one and it says
Unknown Kontakt file: Error -3 and nothing is listed under Audio files.
I select Destination as SF2, click on convert, a window opens, but it does nothing, still at 0% after 30 mins.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong please? |

I THINK I may have got round it by following Sharps guide and opening Kontakt as a VST and doing it that way,
time will tell |

Yeah, to directly convert Kontakt format files the files need to be unprotected and v3 or lower. If they are not, you get that error you just mentioned.
To get around that, what your doing right now is how its done, which is to run Kontakt as a VST inside Extreme Sample Converter.
If when you do that you get silence on certain notes, or when you hold down a key the sound cuts off after a few seconds, then that's caused by encryption. To get around that, use the Real-Time converter.
It's much slower, but it will overcome all encryption and conversion problems. Darn good program.
Regards
