Hi fellow Korg Triton users Wink

Do you use the onboard sequencing arrangements on your Triton Classic, Triton Studio, Triton Extreme, Karma or Triton LE ?

It would be useful (and interesting!) to know how people use their Tritons ...

I always use my Triton sequencer. I only use my computer sequencer for more advanced editing if needed.

I chose the second one but it's not an absolute answer... I never use the internal seqencer to compose or record anything, but I'm sure I'll use it more in the future when I'll start to write some music. For now only cover and live.

I mainly use my TS Sequencer to capture any new song or musical idea
that I will save and retrieve later for building and completion. I sometimes,[50%] will engage the sequencer for part of the completion process, otherwise I'll take the project over to Sonar for the sequencing and use the T.Studio's sound pallette to color with.

All in all the Studio's sequencer plays the most important role, the one button record gets me where I need to be before it's too late!

I just wish I could grasp the rppr or loop patern feature more.

I'm currently in the process of recording all the patterns in the TS @ various tempo's to Acid 4.0 to expand my loop pallette!

only use the sequencer as a template tool to set up my sounds/splits/layers etc for each song - we play live.

I'm still trying to get my head around the rppr thang - I tried it a while back and couldn't get it to record anything at all; there must be some crucial step missing from the instruction sheet I downloaded from somewhere...

I'll try it again soon, and if I still have no luck I'll start a new thread about it.

I use the Triton sequencer exclusively.
Im more of a play it and if I don't like it play it again kind of guy so the functionality of the sequencer is pretty good for my needs.

this isn’t exactly related to the sequencer but Im gonna whine anyway Smile

One thing that drives me nuts is if Im in sampling mode and I zoom out on a waveform I cant visually tell where the peaks of the waveform are at. This makes it very difficult to determine how much gain I can apply to a waveform without clipping. If the waveform display chose the peak of the waveform at each display point instead of a random sample this would actually become a useful tool for gain change and compression.

I don't use a Triton, but I use my Trinity's sequencer pretty much exclusively too, other than using software (Renoise) occasionally for programming samples/drums and various midi effects. I even trigger my Virus from the Trinity.

I never use the Triton's sequencer for "sequencing". I use DP for that. I played with it once for a few minutes and wanted to throw the thing through the window. Wow...time signatures are really straight forward...NOT!

I actually use the sequencer for something painful...patch sequencing for live performance. I actually got the technique here. Very Happy

Each song is actually just a combi or prog for the next song or section. I control all the sounds in the set by just pressing the up & down keys. Useful, but ass backwards.

I wish manufacturers would realize that some of us players don't need or want an all-in-one solution. I'd love a box that was considered the top of the line in sounds, no sequencer or other extras, but tools to make live performance easier. Kurzweil did it years ago with it's quick setup mode.

I've got a Trinity, and I'm starting in this week to use her sequencer.
I'm discovering that is beautiful, first of all because you must know very well what you're doing and you must have a clear structure of what you're composing, it'll be better if you write it on a piece of paper...

I own my Trinity from july 2003 and I must admit I've always use her on lives.
I think the main difficult in the seq mod is that you have limited effects so you must choose...
but that's a good training job!

it seems that all Trinity masters have passed trought the seq mod, so it must be usefull...

Yes, I do use the seqs of both my Trinity and myTriton, and I must say I use them A LOT, especially when I´m starting a project, even some times finishing it.
(so can I cast two votes here?) Wink

Thats the main reason, and not any other, why I like, buy, and play Korg keyboards since I have memory.
Its sequencers.
Deep, fast, easy to use.

Ok, ... I see some of you arguing at this point... Wink

Are they upgradable, do we need more fuctions, added features, etc? yup!
But...Albeit far than being complete compared to the software standars nowdays, (no point to disscus here) Korg keyboards have THE BEST SEQUENCERS you can find in the Worstations market, and you can trust me ´cos I know well all others in almost any WS brand you can think of.

As Timo says, Trinity and especially Triton seqs are even good to control external gear if needed. I´ve done it a lot.

So, for me theres no other choice.
Korg is the brand I tend to use and its just because of its sequencers.

I voted yes, but I also use the sequencer live lol. I use it in spite of having Sonar 3.1 Producers Ed. Use them both, yes indeed.

I use Triton seq in let's say 40-50% of our projects.
I use it to create riffs which I record on the multitracks.
BUT THERE ARE TWO SERIOUS LACKS!!!!which I tried to explain to KORG,but they never answered!

1.There are no note lenth editor and I must to send files to Cubase to create the right lenths and after I return them back to Triton or I trigger from Cubase the riffs and I am recording them into the project in Multitracker!

2.No way to delete doubles and often I have to improve them by hand or again in Cubase-There are some arpeggio paterns which sound best/strings for example/when you double the notes,but...no way to edit.

Korg left the teritory of our country before two years ,but we still proceed to make music:)))
