JRR Shop is selling Omnisphere 1.5 for $407 right now.

I suspect a new version is immanent?

Does Spectrasonics give free upgrades if you buy just before a new release?

http://www.jrrshop.com/checkout/cart/

It came to $439 with tax.

Just ordered.

Showing up at $479 for me?

Was about to buy this tomorrow, if a new version is imminent, I might wait, but all UK suppliers sell at the same £299 and no price drops anywhere

You can save £10 if you get it from Thomann. + free shipping.

I was only looking at this yesterday as I would really like to get this myself.

Regards
Sharp,

Spectrasonics are working on several good things for us, i suspect omnisphere 2, but they don't communicate on what they are working on and when it will be out, but it's about a year and a half now......

Thanks Sharp

I've also found it £20 cheaper here with free UK shipping (not sure how much to Ireland), although I've never used them before

An interesting thing from my point of view is that I always wished I could have a couple of the voices from "symphony of voices" but could never warrant the $499 price tag.

From their FAQ

Quote:
I've heard that some of the original Spectrasonics sample libraries are included with Omnisphere?

Yes! As a bonus, we've included the 'best of' our award-winning sample libraries, including Symphony Of Voices, Distorted Reality, Vocal Planet, Hans Zimmer Guitars and many others - please refer to the Reference Guide for a complete list. Keep in mind that the material used from the Sample Libraries are the most playable ones. Phrases and loops were excluded from the Omnisphere core library.

I've just ordered it, usually whenever I do this, a new version is announced a couple of days later Smile

Excellent, congratulations.
The best of Symphony of Voices inside too, wow. I'm a big fan of that library and a long time user.

Extremely tempted to buy myself right now, but I'm caught between this and a photography related program I need for actual work I may get paid for.

Do'h...!!!

Sharp.

Same fear here. And I really doubt they will offer any free update to recent buyers.

If they keep with the 6 year development trend, Spectrasonics would debut a new version in 2014 Winter NAMM, but Omnisphere did not ship until Sept, so figure that into your GAS schedule.

I sent them the following email over the weekend and have just had a response.

Quote:
Hi, I realise this is a bit of an impossible question for you to answer,
but I'll ask anyway Smile

I'm going to buy Omnisphere in the next week.

However, I'm one of those people that buys something one day and 2
weeks later a new version/product is released.

I appreciate your not going to tell me about a new product until your
ready to announce it to the world, so I realise It's a bit of a waste of
time asking this question.

I'll try and word it another way Smile

If I buy Omnisphere tomorrow, am I safe in the knowledge that I'm not
going to have an out of date product, including you offering a cheap
upgrade path to recent purchasers if their product is superseded within
a few weeks of purchase?

many thanks

Their response (no copyright or telling me its for my eyes only)

Our upDATES (1.3, 1.5, etc) have always been free.
UpGRADES (1.0, 2.0, etc) are paid for, but are always priced accordingly for loyal customers, and free, by virtue of a grace period for those who bought just prior to a new release.

I have no information re: 1.6 at this point, but I am certain you will be OK.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

Best Regards,

I've been using Omnisphere since it first came out and Atmosphere before that. Couldn't live without it!

Go on. You know you want to. Wink

I can play the Glorious Guitars patch for days....In reality, I play the Kronos patches much more than firing up the MB Pro, launching Omni, setting up channels so I can hear it, etc.....It does sound amazing and the way it interacts with RMX and Trillian blows my mind.....When I do feel like diving in, I don't get much writing done because I play too much.....LOL....I would recommend all 3 products.....moon

Got it Smile

Installed it, wow is all I can say although its a little overwhelming to begin with as there's so many sounds.

I searched for Glorious Guitars and had a play with that, very nice.

Now I'm going to watch some of their training vids and take it from there.

I know I'm going to love this.

Hi,

congrats fot buying it. I´m sure you´ll love it. And like stated above, so many sounds that you forget writing music because of stepping through the patches . I found Omnisphere is a very good addition to Oasys esp when it comes to effect sounds. Some omnisphere sounds are used in the trailer in the link below, so it might sound familiar to you at some parts Wink

best regards
