How is the durability compared to original head ?
I know it's subject to individual playing styles, but just wondering if
the Remo will outperform it . |

Already read that thread, but I guess it was less a playability issue and more of a durability .
The thing I did not realize was the short collar . Now hand playing is a little more difficult.
Used it at a show tonight and it was fantastic , everyone loved it.
Ran it with a digital delay pedal and a JBL Eon 15 cab, with 400 watts.
KILLER. Coupled with my bass drum mic and a double bass pedal...
The epic film toms and double kick playing a Brazilian pattern was pretty cool. |

[Edit]
(OK, for anyone reading along, I totally screwed up my first response here. For some reason I had the vision of the original collar reversed in my mind.)
Yeah, the original collar is deeper than most (if not all) heads on the market. I've no idea why they chose a head that couldn't be replicated. For a very short time, Korg did offer a replacement head for the Wavedrum when it first came out. But considering how poor the durability of it is, perhaps it's not such a great loss that they stopped doing that. |
