I've noticed a crackling sound for 1 second when first playing an EXi piano sound when the keyboard has been on, but idle for a period of time - maybe an 1/2 hour to an hour. It makes the sound for just a second(or less) then goes away completely. I figure it has to do with getting everything going again and sounds the same as drop outs on a computer.

Regarding noise from polyphony issues, I have not noticed that and have carefully monitored the performance meters and can see very high Voice CPU's and note stealing going on, but it is well managed by the Kronos in my case.

What I do hear in some cases is clipping that results from my local system when there's a lot going on sonically. Not the fault of Kronos in this case.

The Kronos X came with OS 2.0.1. I have loaded OS 2.0.6. So far things seem to be OK. I have noticed NO noise since I installed the update. Hopefully this has resolved the issue. Will post if issues continue.

I noticed yesterday drum distortion sound in combi: "Dreaming while Sleeping". I tried to low volume of drum sound but this is not helped. My OS is v.3.1.2 and I didn't noticed distortion in other sounds. I can say that I only noticed distortion (with headphones) in some drum sounds, why I don't know? It is the old problem, which I never solved! Can you help me with some suggestions. Thanks for all your attention.

Perhaps these drums are distorted on purpose, like with some hiphop sounds? I recall you put up a PCG once where you complained of distorted drums and it was just a distorted hihat from a hiphop kit. That kind of sound is pretty popular in certain styles, nothing wrong with the Kronos.

Thanks SanderXpander, for your reply and for suggestions. You have a really good memory. Yes I put pcg file in 2013., theme was about drum distortion sound.
But, this combi: "Dreaming while Sleeping", don't seems to me that it use hiphop kit (but who knows, maybe it use, I have to check at home). You can hear this combi in this YouTube clip:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMPKJyMCzio

, if you have a time. I didn't hear distortion in this drum sound!
All best from,

I'm not saying this is the problem, but check these two threads from the 'Triton Extreme' category:

- 'Fully loaded RAM slots = noise'
- 'Update- Ram/Rom Noise Issue'

I STILL have this problem with my TEX!

Thanks again SenderXpander, you was completely right. I checked drums kits in combi: "Dreaming Without Sleeping" and in use is one hip hop drum kit. When I muted it, all combi sounds became clear without any distortion. You save my nerves with your explanation, and my deep excuse for my suspicious.
