When I got the pa3x, i've noticed how the sound volume was not loud enough in general. I put them through speakers and the volume was unbelievingly low on almost everything. From styles to performance sounds.
For this, you got to go to Global mode, Maxx audio, and raise the "volume" (as well as, if you want, bass and treble) and save as a maxx audio preset.
It can really boost and add 'punch' to the overall sound.
Another thing is that some STS sounds from styles are not balanced in volume.
For example, one style might have a piano on 1 STS sounding "low" and very "thin", and the next STS has a saxophone that sounds much louder.
NOT MIXED VERY WELL...
HOWEVER, there is hope!
I went into the menu and went to Mixer Tuning, and went to EQ with the upper tracks selected, higher the mid-range, the treble, and even the bass and ....you'd be surprised what a difference that makes. WOW!
Another thing to finish it off, is to, say you have a saxophone from the preset performances (which by default is quite 'dry'), go to menu, effects, and select "B" (for the upper tracks).
Now, add a chorus effect and some sort of delay. This, coupled with the eq adjustments mentioned above REALLY BRING THE SOUNDS TO LIFE!
You can also add effects to the style tracks, and eq, but that is for another post...
Let me know if you benefited from this.
