This was a surprise to me, dunno if its in the manual. Fast mode LFO rate knob at 9 and 10 o'clock produces 8th and 16th notes rhythm locked to tempo. It only seems to work with external clock pulses and not in Flux mode.

I have added the 8th & 16th notes sweet spots on my faceplate design; helpful for dialing in wobble bass or "record scratching" FX.

This even works without external sync on my unit. Weird undocumented feature. But very useful!

I think this works because the Fast LFO retrigs on each note whereas the Slow LFO doesn't - I guess if you get the LFO speed 'close' to 8th or 16th notes, with the retrigging you don't tend to notice if the syncing is out a bit.

Hi,

Well, I think what you hear is the key sync mechanism. It is mentioned in the manual.
When choosing the Fast or 1 shot mode for the LFO, the LFO phase is reset with each note-on event generated by the sequencer.

In case you choose the Fast mode, depending on the rate you choose, the LFO will go through 1 or more full cycles. And it will always run this exact number of cycles per note, because the LFO gets reset each note. So that gives you this tempo sync.

But it means also that if you want to keep the 8th or 16th note rythm effect, you need to match the LFO rate to the tempo.
E.g. if you double the tempo, but keep the LFO rate, your original 16th note effect becomes an 8th note effect.

Ciao.

I'm almost certain it's not the key sync, because when you adjust the tempo (even just slightly) the LFO rate seems to adjust itself immediately as well. It really sounds tempo-synced and not note-synced... Try it!

Of course I did. I have version 2.0, maybe that's the difference.

I did the following experiment:
* LFO rate at 9 o'clock, LFO intensity to 11 o'clock, LFO fast, LFO sawtooth wave to the filter
* Tempo between 9 and 10 o'clock
* Record the same note over the 8 steps. Then disable the odd steps to have some pause between 2 notes

=> you hear (and see it in waveforms) the LFO opening twice the filter per note.
=> Gradually increase the tempo, it goes over 1.5 LFO cycles (heartbeat like - tadam style) to one LFO cycle per note.
=> If you further increase the tempo, the note is too short and the LFO can only close the filter partially
=> If you turn the tempo completely down, I get like 6.3 LFO cycles per note.

So...
