For Sale: Korg 01W - FD In Washington, DC - $650 U.S. o.b.o

Post by CMajor »

Hi,

I'm selling my Korg 01W FD that I've had since purchasing it new from the store back in 1993. I'm the original owner and it is still in excellent condition -- perfect working order with no scratches, marks, blemishes, or other problems. It's been in my home the entire time and it's never been gigged. The backlight is a bit dimmer than when it was brand new, but it's still in fine shape and easily visible.

I am also including the original manual, the factory disk with all the combinations/programs/demos, and a bonus "Voice Crystal" disk with several hundred additional professionally produced programs and combinations.

I live in the Washington DC area and can ship it to you if you're willing to include shipping + insurance costs. I will not be adding any costs to shipping; whatever UPS or FedEx charges to ship and insure it is what I will pass on to you.

I'm asking $650 U.S. or best (reasonable) offer, and can send you pictures if you want to PM me for photos.

And if no one buys it, no worries since I can tell my wife "I really did try to sell it but no one bought it, so I have no choice but to keep it."
Thanks!

well you should have a go on one. I'm not saying that you will like the 01w but for a 90's keyboard it still has alot of oomph! The strings are what cut it for me especially if you tweak them and add multi tap delays. In their heyday they were revolutionary, knocking the the tinny trilly M1 into a cocked hat in my opinion. The sample rate was only 32Khz but this somehow added a warmth to the sounds of the 01w. There are some beautiful pads and combi's, The program 'Isolations' is just beautiful IMO and Death Star is such a fantastic combi. The other great sounds are the 'Organs' and the Choirs. You have to remember that the 01 is over twenty years old now but can still cut the mustard in most departments.

Have a look on youtube for this: "Korg 01/w Synth workstation Demonstration by S4K"

cheers
