Hello,
I am the new owner of a Korg EMX. I LOVE this thing! However, I have question about editing a particular pattern Set Group (1 through 8). I know that the <and> Select Keys are used to control the lower red row of LEDs in the Set Group. Is there anyway to, for example, use the Select Key to control the green LED to Set Group 2 or 3 or 4, etc.. and then hit PLAY to start playing at that particular Set Group? I basically want the pattern (green LED) to start playing at a different location (2 through 8) that I choose, not at the beginning (Set Group 1). Also, is there a way to repeat a particular pattern Set Group indefinitely? Hope this isn't too confusing!
Thanx,
Spiralex

hi there! glad you're digging your emx.
the pattern set groups you're referring to are more commonly called measures. to use the <> keys to switch between measures, you can hold shift and press the <> keys. however, this only works while the pattern is playing, and you can't make a pattern start at anything but the first measure.
the only way to repeat or loop a single measure is to make a pattern that is 1 measure long.
this may seem kind of limiting, but the electribes encourage a different sort of workflow. most songs made on the electribes consist of more than one pattern - trying to work on everything within one pattern (A 01 for example) is very limiting. try making your song stretch across multiple patterns. make a one bar pattern on A 01 and write it to A 02. make some changes to A02, save them, then go back to A 01. switch to A 02, while playing, and A01 will play all the way through to the last measure - mute a couple of things, and do a snare roll on the 8th measure - when A 02 starts to play you're dropped back into the original theme.
