The MonoPoly has the most wonderful sync oscillator sound, can't do that with the Polysix. And you can group two sync oscillator pairs into a wonderful "cascade" of sync... powerful stuff.
I never tried to recreate that sound side-by-side using AL-1, but I think the idea of a MonoPoly EXi is a great idea.

Giving another push to this one as it is now a long time that we’ve had no news about this.
Would be great to have this Mono/Poly analog beast inside the Kronos.
@Korg,
No plans to have it in a next OS instance ?

Actually made a post vouching for the Mono/Poly not too long ago. Recanted though because the M/P doesn't actually offer anything functionally that the Kronos can't already do. It's various functions can be replicated with various engines (HD-1 wavesequencing for round robin oscillators, AL-1 for sync and cross modulation.)
It might be able to offer those various functions in one layout as jimknopf pointed out (as well as the slight differences in tonal character). But to implement a whole new engine just to package redundant functions seems like a waste.
Rather than another VA why not go with a full fledged granular, or spectral, or wavescanning, or additive resynthesis engine? Any of those would be a truly welcome addition the the sound sculpting capabilities of the already mega-powerful Kronos.
BTW its really cool to see that Korg did end up releasing the Mono/Poly on iPad. Shows that people on the forums have a voice and Korg listens. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro |

Maybe they coukd use the AL1 engine and just have a Mono/Poly GUI. It would probably require some serious programming but I think it's totally doable and we all would love to have it! _________________ If music is the food of love, play on and play loud!
