Has anyone tried synching the Volcas with the minibrute or any other analog gear with CVs? I own a brute and am considering getting a Bass or Keys, so just wondering. Thanks

At the moment, there is no CV functionality on any of the Volca units, only tempo Sync for other analog gear that have the proper Sync input jacks, then MIDI IN for clock and note data. I have my Juno-60 arpeggiator and SH-101's sequencer clock synced up with them and it works just fine, but the only thing I see possible using them with the Minibrute is just MIDI OUT to the Volca's MIDI IN.

Today I finished modding a volca beats & I added a midi out. It's a really easy mod, 3 wires & a midi socket. Anyway, tonight I drove an electribe ea1 with it.
The electribe will sync to the midi from the volca. Cool Tis the beginning of better volca things !

Awesome! I think I'll do this myself when I pick up the Volca's. How long did it take?

Well, it depends on what you modify. If you know basic soldering & can make a tidy job that won't upset the unit then can be a quick job. The midi mod is very straight forward & I briefly tested it by plugging into an old Yamaha qy10. Nine out of ten volca trigger pads - triggered the qy10 sounds, only the volcas 'crash' pad didn't do anything.
I'm going to record my experiment with the volca & electribe and i'll post some information about what I found when I did the job. I'll post the info in the other thread though, http://www.korgforums.com/forums-frame.htm

Maybe in a day or two.

Take care. It's not a difficult procedure but it's not for the faint hearted either. Anyone who doesn't know what they're doing should approach it with caution.
Once you open up the case, the warranty is void immediatley so if you break it, it's bye bye volca & money. Crying or Very sad
I'll be posting that info I mentioned later.
