Hi Pradeep,
I tried to post this yesterday - but for some reason the forum won't let me post unless I disable BBCode??
It sounds like the touch panel is failing, which is very common on M3's.
It is normally just the touch panel that needs replacing - I have written some instructions for replacing the touch panel here:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwnJAmy-gHTvS29rV01rOU9HMkE/edit?usp=sharing
Best regards, Mike.

The LCD doesn't have anything to do with the touch screen calibration. As long as you can see the screen the LCD does not need to be replaced, just the touch screen overlay.
But before replacing it try getting the tip of your finger up in the corner or try a stylus with a small tip. You might get it to respond enough to calibrate it.

I don't know of any editor that will do that. There may be some sysex commands for a few of the functions but doing a quick scan of the documentation didn't show any thing that would support them. |

What is up with the touchscreens? There should have been a recall on this as I have read many users on the net having problems with them. |

Well I received the newer touchscreen last week. It appears the new ones are matte instead of glossy. The hardest part on changing it was cutting the double sided tape. I went to our local hardware store here and purchased the thinnest ds tape there. Then I just had to cut the tape into thin strips. Works like a charm and I really like the new touchscreen better. |

i shipped my m3 to dubai the place of purchase. korg tells me that display as well as touch screen have to be replaced & cost 3200 dirhams which is half the cost of the instrument..
i feel korg is bringing out inferior keyboards because my m3 touch panel failed within 3 months of purchase. |

I bought the replacement screen also but did not have to use it (yet). I trimmed the as 4 way connector with scissors and got functionality back in my M3 touchscreen with the old screen. Mikelees instructions were excellent. I had to remove a few screws (he did not mention) This was very minor. I really, truly appreciate his tutorial with pictures. It is scary doing brain surgery on your child like that for an amateur like me. Thank you Mikelees! Good Luck pradeepnprabhu! It is nice to have the screen back. _________________ “I’m into scales right now.”

I have a problem with a M3.
Got the replacement part from Mouser, installed it and have a strange problem.
The panel responds fine except a narrow strip starting from the top and up to 1 cm downwards.
So I cannot click to the arrow at the upper - right corner.
The strange think is that the panel seems to respond normally at the XY mode.
Any ideas please? |
