You can't upload to the forum directly. You would have to upload to a file or sharing site such as mediafire or sendspace, or image sharing site such as flickr, etc. Or I'm sure there are many others, please don't consider this an endorsement as I use neither.

Alternatively if you run your own website with hosting you can upload your file there.

Then just paste a link using the URL tags. For example, here is a link to a Radias patch hosted on my own site:
Code:
[url]http://www.bradleygray.co.uk/hostedfiles/KFhost/OASYS_Pad.rdp[/url]

Which looks like this:
http://www.bradleygray.co.uk/hostedfiles/KFhost/OASYS_Pad.rdp

You can also do this:
Code:
Find my patch [url=http://www.bradleygray.co.uk/hostedfiles/KFhost/OASYS_Pad.rdp]here[/url]

Which looks like:
Find my patch here

Similarly for images, you need to make sure you use the path to the actual JPG or PNG or whatever file, not the webpage that the image is on. Often you can get a direct link from an image in most browsers by right-clicking and choosing 'copy URL' or 'copy link address' or something similar:
Code:
[img]http://www.bradleygray.co.uk/hostedfiles/KFhost/karma_024.jpg[/img]

Looks like:
