I'm afraid PCG Tools mainly focusses on programs/combis, not about samples. So the .esx format is something for a (very) far future.
However, I hope PCG Tools can do some useful things for you anyway. |
absolutely like i said, glad that you have taken an interest in it, you might want to google the open electribe editor, on top of sample management it also allowed you to manage the other data that is contained within the esx. Worth giving a look over even just to look at how some of the data is and or can be organized. skratchdot.com or something like that might get you there.

Thank you ... I see there is indeed more information ... I don't know exactly if there is also program information but at least a lot of others. The format of the esx file is explained globally.

Michel: I just got hold of an ESX again (I sold my old a couple of years back) and I'm re-familiarising myself with it and see there is a new editor available since I last looked.
With the latest Open Electribe editor I can swap programs and samples between separate .esx files (using the import function), but I can't edit the patterns in a program.
With the older ESXWaveOrganiser editor I can edit (and create) patterns but I can't import patterns from another .esx file.
So between the two I can do pretty much all the edit parameters.
Just thought I'd mention this, having read your previous posts ...

Thanks for this information. PCG Tools works with programs (and combis), not with patterns. I hope there will be some tricks PCG Tools can do, the other can't but also vice versa it will be true.

Loading an .EMX file only works on the machine right now. You can ofc store the file on your computer but not do anything else with it. The .ESX file can be manipulated with the already mentioned Open Electribe Editor. If you can program Java and bit-juggle, you can have a look at the sources of the OEE: https://github.com/skratchdot/open-electribe-editor

I tried to get some sysex files with MIDI-OX. I used the factory pattern as a base. It's the first time I did this so I'm not sure if I got it correctly (manual page 82):
