Hi. New here, and hope somebody can help.
Recently picked up an ancient i4s for a song (its my 3rd)
Problem:
Needed to reset to factory settings but the floppy drive isnt working, so my research suggested that holding "ARR.PLAY + PROGRAMME + POWER ON" will do it - but it fired up a Midi In/Out Check message. So I looped a midi cable between the in and out ports which moved the re-set to another check, which was for headphones - so I plugged in a set of headphones - and it went to the Floppy Drive - which doesnt work.
Now the i4s programmes are all over the place (with Bass accompaniment being played by a synth, for example)
Does anyone know of another re-boot sequence (obviously I cant use a Floppy Restore) ?
Thanks

Replace the Floppy drive with a new one or a USB floppy drive emulator (just Google "usb floppy emulator drive" = there are many ranging from about $20 up). I installed one of these on my Korg Karma and my Yamaha QY700 - worked like a dream.

Cheers

Thank you
There appear to be several different versions available, with differing plugs?

I recommend that you remove your existing drive in order to check the correct plug.

The ones I have used have simply replaced stock standard PC-style floppy drives.
If your i4s has some proprietary connection you may have a problem but I would expect that it is a standard floppy drive.

Let me know how you go..
