Hello all,

I'm new to the forum. I was motivated to look for help because there is a drum sound that I'm obsessed with getting from the wavedrum (silver, regular wavedrum) that I can't figure out how to get even close to. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas. I've tried a few algorithms, and editing a few presets, without getting close.

I think it's a frame drum, from what I read about the song that made me want to get the sound (Maneesh de Moor, "Cosmic Flow").

Here is the song--it's a very cool hypnotic sound IMO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXadBQkvaJM

Anyone up for helping me with it?

btw, there is probably something better out there, but if anyone is interested in an excel file I put together for tracking program parameters, I can post it. I haven't spent much time with the forum yet, so I'm probably offering a bicycle to people who are flying jets (or something like that), but I at least wanted to offer.

Thanks!
Bryan

Oh God, I just searched the forum and saw the Global has a frame drum preset for frame drum. Well, I don't have a global.

I don't know much about percussion instruments--so maybe there are a million different types of frame drums, or maybe the sound in the song is a different kind of drum altogether. I'm just trying to get close to that sound.

So if anyone has the global and that has a similar sound, and you think the silver might have the necessary algorithms and pcm's to duplicate it, then maybe you could let me know the parameters? Otherwise, just any ideas of how to get that drum sound on a silver?

OK, I'll shut up now--thanks!

Actually the fact that the Global has a patch could be good news as you probably have the same elements to make the patch. If only someone who has a global could post the algo and settings etc.

if only somebody read out his Global sd card and posted that material ,
we could have all the patches in PDF format Wink

no flying jet , but this file can read and write soundbank files(Open Office)
Silver and Oriental presets are included

Thanks guys. I looked up the Global's preset list, and the frame drum preset does use voices that aren't in the silver.

The global looks pretty nice--that's the first time I looked at it closely. Now I want one!
