Firstly, I can see no additional sounds or styles. However, they seem to say they have improved the existing resources, and I must say the keyboard sounds even better than before!

Secondly, Yes, the new OS wipes out all current user settings. However, to reload them is a piece of cake.

Firstly, go to Media/Save/All, name it "backup" or whatever you want, and I suggest save it to a USB stick.

Then install the new OS. In order to load the new (and improved?) resources, you need to go to Media/Utility/ Factory Restore.

The final step is to Load your "backup". Go to Media/ Load and find "backup" on the USB stick. Load it and all your global settings will be as you had previously set them before the new OS install and all your User and Favorite styles are loaded.

Easy... (when you know how) Wink

I always assumed the user and favorites were part of the music resources anyway, so I always back them up before I install a new OS. Take care. Chuck

PostPosted: Thu Jun 19, 2014 9:07 pm    Post subject: DNC sounds not visible after upgrade Reply with quote

Hi,

I have upgraded my PA900 to 1.10 yesterday. Everything was smooth. But I'm seeing some discrepancies in the way the sounds are listed.

Before upgrading, all my DNC sounds were visible when i navigate thru performance buttons. For example, when i press on 'strings' button (under performance), the violin DNC will be visible. However, after upgrading the OS to 1.10, i have notice that this no longer true as expected! You need to press on 'Sound select' button to be able to see the DNC sounds.

In other words, when you navigate thru performance buttons, you can only see "user" sounds. You will not see any factory sounds. Could anyone help me out here, why I'm not seeing the other sounds - not even the factory sounds while navigating thru performance buttons? Please note that I'm a novice in PA900.

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated

Can someone please tell me how the OS is stored in the Pa900?
Is an HD/EEPROM etc.? Not that it matters much, just for info purposes.

Make sense, since there is no physical HD in there.
Thanks, Jim
