Didn't like the clear dials and lack of indicator on the volume so I modified my Volca keys. Much better IMO and the indicators stand out even more when the lights are on.
No trick, just painstakingly painted in.

Nice. I have been trying to do this for a couple weeks. Cant seem to find a marker or brush thin enough. |

I do the same thing with all my knobs, but I used a fine white Sharpie paint pen. |

I can confirm this works well. I used the white EXTRA fine point. I was recommended the oil based option by the lady at the art store as she thought it would hold better on the plastic but they didnt have the oil based in an extra fine point. Instead, I opted for the water based and it has worked perfectly for me. _________________ www.todtechno.com |

Just a thought, but it might actually be easier to paint the entire top surface of the knob black, leaving the engraved line illuminated. I'll try it on my Monotron Delay. _________________ Communication is everything. |

I ended up using a green POSCA acrylic paint marker - more opaque than a Sharpie - and the exposed indicator line shows up really well. To be honest, any opaque maker will do, and it has the advantage that you don't have to fill in a really thin crevice on a tiny knob! _________________ Communication is everything. |
