DNC or not, that´s not my question and i don´t want to critize the work which have been done here.

my statement is more or less that the korg sounds are not state of the art and not real high quality.

that´s the root cause people have to develop new sets and new sounds...

my questions was - which EQ-settings shall i try to reach the best results with the PA600?

tx and all of you enjoy playing music

I agree about the Korg sounds not being as good as that of another brand, however it's not true that the sounds are not high quality.

The reason why I prefer a Korg PA is , with the other brand I only get the sounds. Nothing else. Their sequencer is for amateurs, I have either to record all the backing in one go, and I can't edit the chords later because it doesn't allow that, or I have to make the whole backing in step time. Their entire instrument is for amateurs. With the Korg PA I can do both: record in realtime and edit or substitute chords later, and/or record in step time. I can combine all these approach. The Korg PA is a real workstation. I can turn off my computer (a very good thing) and I can write music and record with the PA and get a lot done, in a stress free environment. I always find myself completely focused on the music making process. The sounds are still high quality enough, although, yes, I too wish they were as good as the other brand.

For me, Korg in the end still wins, because to call a keyboard a 'workstation' I don't need just the sounds.

But I know what you mean, in a way, about the sounds. I think Korg is improving on this matter. But I think the sounds are indeed high quality, just not the absolute best. The ones on my PA300 are at least equal to the ones of my Ketron SD2 module. Unfortunately,I think the absolute best sounds are on Yamaha arrangers, but the sounds is ALL they have, and when I consider many other aspects, in my opinion Yamaha arrangers are certainly not definable as workstations as the Korg PA range is (even the budget model I have, which is remarkable in my opinion), and not as good value for money. I think the PA600 is much more bang for the buck, all considered. And I can still import custom sounds. I am planning to get a PA600 soon too, although I am doing very well with the PA300. In my opinion Korg has improved the sounds quite a lot in the last 2 or 3 years. Cheers

Sample ROM in Pa600 is stored permanently in machine, not accessible, but in Pa600V.2 SET sounds is improved using same samples/multisamples and created new in RAM.
Pa900 has more possibility and always will be ahead Pa600.
