I am about to purchase a condenser microphone for home recording. I am looking to spend around $125, and what ive found is a CAD GXL3000. I was wondering if anyone had any feelings about this mic, or had any similar suggestions?

AKG Perception is a decent mic in your price range. My guitarist has one and I've used it for alot of things, including vocals, room/ambient, overhead, guitar, and percussion.

I just ordered a Cascade Fathead ribbon mic. It's gotten many rave reviews and won awards. The demo clips offered on Cascade's website sounded really nice, especially the stringed instruments. Nice warm tone, and only runs $159+$12 shipping to US. I'll give more info after I get to test it out, if you're taking your time shopping around.

CAD seems to make decent kit for the money, but I've never had the chance to use them. Good Luck!
