Well I am an electronic musician, but pianos go wonderfully with Trance. Especially the old school stuff. Robert Miles is more spiritual/new age-ish trance, but the piano still sits well with electronic sounds. In fact it almost seems like a better fit than some 'traditional' genres. It just floats above the beat, with a sweet, spacial quality that seems to carry the melody very well. Of course you won't be using a huge ballsy piano, and very likely you won't be using much below middle C either. It lends itself to a solo melody with no real chords to speak of. It's all in the style. (as always) _________________ "The Heart of the Machine is evolving, the Soul has emerged, and all who embrace it, will reach Technotic Nirvana." I am a piano man too. I rarely play without it, but there is always a choir, pad, and string track right next to it that I can bring in to add to the great sound of the piano. I love the Bosendorfer Piano on my EX88. Use it more often than not! My second most used sound is tied with the Elec. Piano and the EX Combi Dying Star.
