Designed for Komplete 10.

Backwardly compatible? Hope so.

Works with Komplete 9 too. Good move NI.

Good info at CDM

Ooh, Kontrol™. Wonder if Korg will allow NI to do that.

Looks killer, though.

They are somewhat overdue... Expected these a lot earlier, espescially with the succes of Maschine lately

Looking forward to these... Its a huge step for hardwrae/software integration

Oh yes, that's what the whole music world is waiting for:
one more proprietary controller keyboard designed for a single software brand!

Can we please have more of that? One new board with nice coloured new sliders and knobs to learn, for any software we own, please? It's so much fun having your studio look like a kindergarden toy pile, as opposed to smart unified solutions! %--}

I'm sitting on the fence on these. The last thing I need is another midi keyboard, but at the same time my Maschine controller and my APC40 are two of my favorite pieces of hardware.

As far as I see, this thing doesn't even have decent pitch and modwheels, and the rest of the controller layout doesn't look overwhelming to me either.

It's quite expensive anyways, just to make you work with Komplete all the time, instead of building up your own choice of sampled and VA sounds with lots of great software alternatives. They give you faster access to and better control over Komplete, and you pay a lot of money for becoming more and more dependant on this one package. Very Happy

Yes, i totaly agree, we do not need controler which artificaly works only with one software brand!!!
I hope Native Instrumnts will make it universal which will work with any AU, VST!!!
I have Komlete 9 and lately i do not use it really much because there more better software out there exept Reaktor.

I'm assuming it will be universally usable. I don't object to the idea of them creating optimized templates for all the included synths, if done well. Again, I really enjoy my Maschine (and my APC40) hardware. But I think it will be pretty tricky to create a coherent system for so many different products (let alone something like Reaktor) and unless they think of something really really clever I wouldn't see the use.

I agree with SanderXpander. I seriously doubt this would be tied to NI products only, their thing is to integrate as fully as possible, maybe not the way we always would like but they seem to do a pretty good job of it. The maschine in its own rights works great as a controller in midi mode. I et this will as well and if the keyed is as nice as the Kronos then I would love to have one. Apparently it has after touch but I do not know about poly aftertouch. I also think it is quite creative how they used the touch strips and could have a blast with some of its implementation. I do not know but it seems there is separate software for the keyboard and how that will work eludes me for the time being. I expect more vids soon though.

I do like the LED over the keys, i could see that feature being handy for a few things. As far as the board itself goes I'm not really impressed, after the launch of the maschine studio, this isn't quite on the same level of integration.

Yes... Totally not what i expected after seeing the video... I was expecting something more akin to maschine quallity, with one or two nice screens.

In that link it looks like a very minimalistic midi controller, specifically build to controll komplete, and the price, €700 for a 61 master keyboard is huge...

Besides the extremely high cost (which may put many people off) they have apparently added some browsing features so that you can find / load any sound (by attributes / description etc?) without having to worry about which engine is required.

Not sure this would be enough to sway me into actually buying one but I do like the idea of integration.

Thats the application that belongs to the keys....

There are 16 buttons, 2 wheels and 9 knobs on this keyboard... Any master midi controller with this much buttons should be able to mimic what the NI keys do...( except for the keylights )
