Hey guys, I have not found any topic about the freshly anounced new Electribes yet, so I started this. I am sooo happy that Korg announced those great looking new devices, its simply brilliant. I hope they dont screw it up.
Here http://www.korg.com/us/products/dj/electribe/ are all information avaiable at that time.
What are you thinking? What do you expect the pricing to be like? I mean, the only drawback of the EMX were the samples and the lack of polyphony, and now we have all these things. I am so excited. |

music production workstation and sampler ? not both... |
Yes, there are still two electribes, but the Electribe, the successor to the EMX, does have PCM Samples for the drums sounds. And those sucked on the EMX and it is great that they have been improved. |

Looking at the back panel, what's with the non-standard MIDI ports!?
Looke like it might need a special cable or converters.
That will be painful if for some reason (loss or breakage), you can't get hold of one at a gig. |

The adapters for standard midi are included. Probably they did this to keep the electribe smaller, because the midi ports need some space. |

still would have been better to just use standard midi, even if it meant a higher price for a larger board. What if you lose the adapter? I don't even think they sell these things.
Besides that, my other gripe is the sequencer - I wish it was the traditional horizontal row instead of separating it into two. But there may be a reason behind it. I just hope it isn't another space saving decision.
Other than that, I'd like some more info on this before making up my mind as to whether or not I want one. |

Korg site sasys Autumn 2014, Mistabashi (an artist also doing the preinstalled patterns for the Electribe) wrote on Facebook that it will be avaible before x-mas 2014. Both did not said if this is a global date or maybe japan-only. |

This news has grabbed my attention. I sold all the tribes i had & i figured they would never give us a new one. I always loved my esx1 but the HISS ! from those tubes or outputs drove me bonkers...... Just when i've spent all my cash too, the irony of it ! Still, i'll check these out for future reference, could be a window back into beat making for me. _________________ My current Korg gear. MS20 Mini... & now the .... Oh, maybe not !

I would never go by Korg's ETA. They lag so much. Guessing it would have to make a Winter Namm appearance first. My bet is by mid 2nd quarter 2015, stateside. _________________ MicroKorg XL+, KP3+, Volca Quad, 2x Monotribe midi'd, 2x MiniKPv1, ES2 |

I've been told November in the US is the expected date, but something could always go wrong with that. |

The new electribe uses the engine from the king korg, as a KK owner, the synth sounds as a whole should be better several times over. _________________ 2xds-10, ds10+, m01 |
